This was a very helpful class that let us know what the most likely safety concerns are for our dogs (and cats). Debra showed us her emergency care kit and explained all the items very well. It was really helpful to know that some things we might rush off to the vet for were not necessarily emergencies (e.g. ear mites--and here, what to look for and what to do and how we could avoid the time and expense of the vet). Debra also brought along her wonderfully calm big dog (Emma Zen) who served as a living model to demonstrate anatomy and some basic procedures alongside a dog mannequin that we used to practice CPR. Debra is very knowledgeable, passionate, and brings lots of energy and expertise to the class. I learned a lot! My only concern was there so much to cover and so many questions that we didn't have quite enough time, even as a very, very small group. Partly this was b/c of the very personal, anecdotal spirit--pet owners wanted to talk about their pets and Debra had cute stories to tell about her own pets. All that definitely brings situations to life, but it would also be nice to get a full and complete sense of each topic, even if that means skipping some of the cute stories. Unknown on 11th Nov 2014
